Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership

Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership (IIDL), an initiative of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, is designed to produce trained, ethical, and responsible leaders. In short, “New Leaders for a New India.”

The objective of IIDL is to provide a deep insight into the socio-political ground reality of India, to inculcate and enhance leadership values and capacities, and to equip participants with the necessary skill-sets for having a career in politics, public affairs, voluntary organisations and allied areas.

About Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini

Established in 1982, Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) is a unique Training and Research Academy aimed at enhancing capabilities of voluntary activists and elected representatives. RMP has an excellent state-of-the-art training facility spread over 15 acres on the outskirts of Mumbai, known as Knowledge Excellence Centre (KEC). RMP is recognised by the United Nations as a Special Consultative NGO.

Post Graduate Programme in Leadership, Politics & Governance

A 1-year residential programme structured around three academic pillars from Batch X: Leadership & Management, Governance and Public Policy, and Politics and Democracy. Each pillar runs for 2 months and is reinforced through workshops, field exposure, simulations, and study tours.

Leadership & Management

2 months covering self-awareness, team building, stress elimination, Indic leadership, public life tools, and constituency-facing skills.

Governance and Public Policy

2 months focused on governance systems, public administration, economy, public policy drafting, implementation, and digital governance.

Politics and Democracy

2 months on political thought, constitution, parties, nationalism, media, national security, geopolitics, and India in the world.

Electioneering and Analytics

Includes election law, electoral systems, booth management, campaign operations, manifesto work, fund raising, and data analytics.

Field Exposure

Features assembly election study tour, national capital study tour, rural excursion, field surveys, and presentation-based learning.

Simulations and Practice

Model United Nations, Model Parliament, PIL, RTI, short film workshops, office management, media relations, and event organising.

Fill the registration form and pay a registration fee of Rs 1,000 before the deadline. Proof of payment to be emailed to info@iidl.org.in.

Interview

If shortlisted, you'll receive a call for the interview round through email and phone call from IIDL office.

Selection

Selected candidates will be intimated for the admission process through email and call from IIDL office.

Frequently Asked Questions

The programme is a 1-year residential course.

Graduates from any discipline, generally in the 21-30 age group, may apply.

The registration fee is Rs 1,000 and the full programme fee is Rs 4,50,000/-.

Scholarship assistance is available for eligible candidates.
