Online Foundation Course in Party Politics in India

Understanding of Indian Politics is incomplete without the understanding of Political Parties in India. The Political Parties play a significant role in evolution of politics. Through this Foundation Course in Party Politics in India, the participants are given an opportunity to learn about the history and evolution of the three major political parties/ideologies who have dominated the national discourse along with at least one regional party each from – North, South, Central, Eastern, Western, and North-Eastern part of India.

• 1. To cover history and evolution of political parties in India
  2. Three main political parties and at least a regional party each from – North, South, Central, East, West, North East to be covered
  3. Political Parties to be Covered: BJP, Congress, CPM, BSP, Shiv Sena, TMC, AGP, one Telugu and Dravida party each.

Understanding of Indian politics is incomplete without the understanding of Political Parties in India. Political Parties play a significant role in evolution of politics. Through this Foundation Course in Party Politics in India, the participants were given an opportunity to learn about the history and evolution of three national parties/ideologies which have dominated the Indian politician scenario along with one regional party each from eastern, western, northern, southern central and north-eastern part of India.

The online course was inaugurated by the hon. Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Shri Hriday Narayan Dixit with Dr Vinay Sahasarabuddhe taking the first session on Introduction and Evolution of Politics in India post-independence. The valedictory session was addressed by V Satish, Joint National Secretary (Org) of BJP.

The participants were left over-whelmed with a stellar list of lecturers over the course of 15 classes in five days. The line-up included

The list of political parties discussed were: Communist Parties of India (CPI & CPM), Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (and Bharatiya Jana Sangh), Biju Janata Dal, Telagu parties (TDP-TRS-YSRC), regional parties of Bihar (RJD-JDU) and Uttar Pradesh (SP-BSP), Dravida Parties (DMK-AIADMK), Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, and Assam Ganatantra Parishad.
