A convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership (IIDL) was held at the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) in Uttan near Bhayandar on the occasion of Teachers Day on Monday. The fifth batch completed its one-year coursework in the Post Graduate Programme in Leadership in Politics & Governance.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. While addressing, he said, “The quality of education is important, the sense of values that one has is more important than just the academic qualifications. The values inculcated by IIDL amongst its students where along with their leadership skills their quality of compassion is also inculcated which helps to play as a leader.”
Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Vice Chairman, RMP presided over the ceremony. stressed the point of developing leadership, as a science as developing good leaders is the need of the country.
Ravindra Sathe, Director General, RMP, and Devendra Pai, Course Director, IIDL were also present at the event. Ravindra Sathe informed about the IIDL course and how the students benefited from it and also he shared the future plans of IIDL.
Two outgoing students – Yadam Bagang from Arunachal and Thirveen Sankar from Kerala shared their experience on “how this course helped them to develop their overall personality and helped them move closer towards their goals.”
This course also aims at providing students with a deep insight into the country’s socio-political scenario and public administration, besides inculcating leadership values. According to IIDL, “Post Graduate Diploma(PGD) in Leadership, Politics, and Governance(LPG) is a unique inter-disciplinary course designed to bridge the gap between young talent and India’s democratic political entity and governance. The program is targeted at students and young professionals who wish to make a career in the field of politics, governance, public affairs and leadership.”
The Post Graduate Diploma(PGD) launched by the Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership (IIDL), a centre promoted by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini is designed to produce trained, ethical and responsible leaders, in short – “New Leaders for a New India.”
